Knee pain is one of the major problems affecting the day to day life activities of an individual. The simplest daily activities including walking, sitting, climbing stairs, cycling, becomes difficult and painful. Some of the major joint problems causing knee pain are osteoarthritis of knee, rheumatoid arthritis, ligaments or meniscal injuries, muscle weakness.  The problem commonly occurs after the age of 30, but is seen more commonly in elderly people.  With age the joint structures begin to get degenerated. The knee joint consisting of joint capsules, articular cartilages, meniscus, ligaments and muscles supporting the joint go through several changes. The degenerative changes in the knee joint causes the surrounding joint structures especially the muscles to become weak, leading to inability to perform simple day to day life activities. ·            PROVOCATION TESTS 1.        GAENSLEN’S TEST: The gaenslen’s test stresses the sacroiliac joint, increased pain on the joint while performing the test is indicative of the sacroiliac joint dysfunction. -           The patient in lying on the couch in a side lying position with the affected leg hyperextended (hanging outside the couch). Patient flexes the other leg and holds knee to chest. The therapist stabilizes the pelvis while the extending the hip by holding it from distal thigh. The Deltoid A brief description. Deltoid, previously called as Deltoideus or (plural- Deltoidei) is a Greek word . The name is given as Deltoid due to its resemblance to a triangular shaped  Greek alphabet  Delta. Therefore Deltoid is a triangular shaped  muscle in the shoulder region of our body.  Also called as "Delt" in slang. it is a thick muscle which covers the shoulder joint and helps to stabilize the head of the humerus while carrying heavy loads by preventing dislocation of the shoulder joint.
